In the past month I’ve greatly changed my sleep schedule, mostly to ensure that I can keep my job, but also so that I can do more with my mornings. I’ve experienced some mixed success with this since I’ve also been quite frustrated with the amount of sleep my body sometimes needs. I don’t think I should need more than 5 hours a night, but sometimes it seems like I need more than 8, which is really quite frustrating. Today, I woke up frustrated again.
Last night, I made a long list of things I wanted to accomplish today by waking at 7 in the morning. Instead, I awoke 2 hours late and I’ve been ready to write off this whole for the last hour.
But, in trying to remain optimistic, I made some tea and some breakfast and I did find the time to do a little writing this morning and bring the novel’s word count down to 173,998.
I’m going to press forward (I’m markedly disheartened without my daily dose of fast food) and keep on keeping on…at least throughout the rest of the day.
